Each ton of Biochar permanently stores up to 3.3 tons of CO2 for more than 1000 years. Biochar is a recognized Negative Emission Technology. It removes CO2 from the atmosphere, stores it permanently in attractive products, and reduces aggressive climate gases such as methane and nitrous oxide since carbonization avoids rotting processes.
