Biochar as a Carbon Sink:

Biochar, a highly porous form of charcoal, offers a revolutionary approach to addressing carbon emissions and climate change. Produced through pyrolysis, a process that heats organic materials without oxygen, biochar captures carbon from these materials and stores it within its structure for extended periods. This process is known as carbon sequestration. By stabilizing carbon in biochar, we can effectively lock away carbon dioxide that would otherwise contribute to global warming.

During pyrolysis, organic materials undergo a series of chemical reactions. As the material heats up, volatile gases are released and can be used as fuel.
